Marcia in her studio on Wooster Street Soho in the mid-1980s

I have been an abstract painter for the past 40 years. Color, form, and intuition are my driving forces of inspiration.  The freedom to see what comes forth has always been the surprise and joy of my practice. This allows me to trust in the process and let my subconscious rule.

Marcia Miller (she/her) is an abstract painter. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, she took her first art classes at the Brooklyn Museum. She received a BFA in painting from C.W. Post and spent a year abroad in Rome with Temple University’s Tyler School of Art. Marcia later attended Hunter College and earned an MFA in painting. After graduate school, she continued her practice in NYC while working at Sothoby’s and designing her own line of scarves which were featured in Vogue and sold at Henri Bendel. Marcia currently lives and works on Long Island.
